The Hyli testnet is live!

The Hyli testnet is now live! Come, play, and experience a proof-powered world.

An astronaut walking on sand dunes. In front of them is a giant orange. The text says The Hyli testnet is live and there is the small Hyli logo at the bottom of the image.

The Hyli testnet is a gamified public playground to explore what you can build with proofs on Hyli.

Come and play! It’s fun for you, and for us, it’s a way to gather your feedback, stress-test the network, and showcase what’s possible on Hyli.

This first public testnet is divided into two phases:

  1. Play and learn: starting right now, you can join us for fun on our testnet. We’ll also be posting behind-the-scenes explanations of how our apps are built and the technical choices we made in their development.
  2. Build: In Phase 2, which is scheduled to start in a few weeks, we will onboard developers so that everyone can deploy an app on the testnet. The best ones will get featured alongside the Phase 1 demos!

How to access the testnet

Invite codes will be released in batches on all of our social media channels and our Telegram channel. We'll also be dropping invite codes on the blog newsletter!

How to play and what to play

Visit the testnet landing page; you'll need an invitation code to sign up.

Got issues or want to hang out? Join our Telegram group. (No codes will be given by asking on Telegram.)

In addition to being fun, our apps showcase different proving schemes and testnet features:

  • Faucet − a Fruit Ninja-style faucet
  • Orange trail − a mini-exploration game where every step is a bet on whether you’ll make it back to your base
  • eZKasino − a fully-proven game of blackjack, complete with a Windows XP interface
  • Chat − a ZK-powered fully onchain chat to talk with other testnet enjoyers
  • One wallet to rule them all and climb the leaderboard.
  • Coming soon: Hyligotchi, the cute creature you’ll care for during your adventure

How does this work?

Applications built on Hyli operate as verifiable applications executed offchain and verified on Hyli.

Every single transaction is first sequenced on Hyli, then proved by a dedicated system, and then verified on Hyli for settlement. Risc0 proofs are generated with Bonsai and Boundless, SP1 proofs are generated using the Succinct prover network, and Noir proofs are generated on your device.

During June, we’ll be posting in-depth articles about each app on the blog every other weekday, explaining how they work behind the scenes and what technical choices our development team made when building them. Stay tuned and sign up to our newsletter if you haven’t already!

Why Hyli is doing this testnet

In the first phase of this testnet, we aim to showcase what is possible on Hyli, stress-test the network, and push the limits of proof-powered transactions.

In the second phase of the testnet, we will focus on the ease of developing apps that run on Hyli. On our proof-powered blockchain, developers benefit from:

  • Native Rust support, eliminating the need for a learning curve and specialized programming languages.
  • The Autobahn consensus algorithm for unmatched speed, scalability, and security.
  • Pipelined proving ensures a smooth user experience by eliminating wait times during proof generation.
  • Native proof composition allows seamless interoperability between apps and proving schemes.

Play with us on the testnet, get started building an application, or join our community on Telegram right now!
