The rebrand
Of course, the big news of May 2025 was that we are now called Hyli! It comes with a change in æsthetics, too − less retrofuturistic, more monumental.
Our co-founder Sylve wrote in detail about the rebrand and the motivations behind it.
Hylé was a name we loved: elegant and French. But if you didn’t come from our little corner of the world, you struggled to write and say it. We’re building something essential. Essentials should be simple.

Testnet soon!
We will be launching our testnet this month.
This marks the culmination of 9 months of intense work: we shipped a new blockchain client in Rust, one of the first implementations of the Autobahn consensus algo, support for three ZK backends, a wallet, an explorer, and multiple demo apps. It’s a lot for a team of five engineers!
Hyli is designed to be the best blockchain for building verifiable applications. This testnet will be our public proof. Keep an eye on our X account to get an invite code!
Events
In true French fashion, the month of May was light in in-person events. It's all to prepare for our intense month of June better!
At Berlin Blockchain Week, we'll be hosting a zesty coworking café. If you crave vitamins and/or a chat with our team, this is your chance! Sylve will also be speaking at NoirCon and zuBerlin. Hyli is also participating in zkHack, where you’ll be able to build apps to deploy on our testnet - don’t miss it!
At ETHCC, we've got two main things:
- The ZK Morning Coffee on June 30 is co-organized by zkCloud, Starknet Foundation, ZKM, and House of ZK. A must-attend!
- Just after the morning coffee, walk to the Grant stage of ETHCC: at 1.50 pm, Sylve will give a 20-minute talk on building the Ethereum endgame right now!
